Technical Rescue Team

In addition to training and working as on-call firefighters, many of our volunteers also opt to serve on the Middlebury technical rescue team. Specializing in water, rope, and ice rescue, our team trains on a monthly basis and maintains certifications in swift water rescue, rope rescue (high, medium, and low angle), ice rescue, and land search and rescue.

The station is equipped with two motorized Zodiac boats, a rescue truck complete with winch and lighting, and all necessary equipment to complete all technical rescue tasks.  

All Middlebury firefighters are eligible to attend technical rescue trainings and join the rescue team.
